We started Mailboxes because shipping to Bermuda shouldn’t feel like a mystery. Between long wait times, surprise fees, and customs chaos, we knew there had to be a better way. So we built it.

What began as a small local service has grown into Bermuda’s go-to shipping solution trusted by thousands of residents, expats, and businesses. But one thing hasn’t changed: we’re still here to make your life easier, one package at a time.

We’ve covered the most common questions here. But if you still need help, reach out and our team will get you sorted.

  • As soon as you become a Mailboxes member, we give you a personalized US address where you can ship all your online purchases. Once you’ve made an online purchase, the only things left to do are:

    1. Upload your invoice to the Mailboxes Dashboard.

    2. Hang tight and you’ll have your shipment in hand within 48-72 hours.

    Simple, right? 

    If for some reason you can’t upload your invoice to our Dashboard, you can always e-mail us at inbound@mailboxes.bm or give us a call at 292-6563 - we’re here and happy to help!

  • Do you have your CAPS ID?

    1. Yes - If you already have a CAPS ID, all you need to do is provide that number when using our Account Sign-Up form

    2. No - If you haven’t gotten your CAPS ID yet, don’t worry, go to THIS LINK to get one. The application process is quick and you should receive your CAPS ID in less than 72hrs. From there, simply email it to inbound@mailboxes.bm so we can connect it to your Mailboxes account!

    3. I Don’t Know - If you aren’t sure you have a CAPS ID, you may be able to inquire with Bermuda Customs CAPS Helpdesk by e-mailing capshelpdesk@gov.bm - they will be able to guide you on how to validate your identity and/or CAPS ID information (if available).

    4. What Even Is a CAPS ID? A Customs Automated Processing System (CAPS) ID Number is a number unique to you and enables you to participate in legitimate logistical commerce in Bermuda. After you provide Mailboxes with your CAPS ID just one time, we will be sure to apply that CAPS ID number as needed, on your behalf, when we submit declarations to Bermuda Customs.

  • The best way to get your invoices to Mailboxes is to upload them directly onto Mailboxes exclusive Dashboard. By using the Dashboard, your invoices take priority in our data processing queue and you’re guaranteed to get the fastest service we offer! It also provides you with shipment tracking & status updates every step of the way. 🙂

    If you’re unable to upload invoices directly, you can email it to us at inbound@mailboxes.bm and our in-house shipping experts will handle the upload process for you in the order your invoice was received. Don’t worry, our service will still be stellar! You just receive slightly less visibility to your shipments real-time status updates.

  • Dimensional weight is when a package is charged based on the size of the item, and actual weight is when it is charged based on - you guessed it - its actual weight. Mailboxes only charges dimensional weight when your shipment is larger than 1 cubic foot (the size of a normal microwave). If your shipment is great than 1 cubic foot, Mailboxes shipping charges will be calculated based on either the shipment’s dimensional or actual weight; whichever is greater.

  • “Express” shipping is Mailboxes fastest and most efficient service. When your shipment is “urgent,” or you simply want it ASAP, use EXPRESS! Transit times range from 48 - 72hrs from the time we receive your shipment in the US.

    “Weekly” shipping is Mailboxes most cost effective service with fast, air-transport, transit times. When your shipment is important, but “isn’t that urgent,” and you’re shipping with costs in mind, use WEEKLY so your packages get consolidated, helping to save you money! Weekly shipments are consolidated on Saturdays and you can expect to have them in your hands the following Wednesday.

  • The cut off for “Weekly” service is 12pm every Friday. Shipments arriving to Mailboxes US facility from 8 a.m Monday through 12 p.m Friday AND have their invoices uploaded to our Dashboard on-time will be consolidated on that week’s shipment.

  • Shipments delivered prior to 12pm Monday are ready for collection in Bermuda on Wednesday morning (so long as your invoice is uploaded 🙂). If your shipment is delivered after 12pm on Monday, and you’ve uploaded your invoice, it will be ready on Thursday morning. We pride ourselves on having ‘Best of Bermuda’ transit times between 48 - 72 hours.

  • Yes! We offer delivery to your door for just 0.99 cents per pound and never more than $25. Shipping made easy(er) when every package you order is delivered straight to your door!

  • As always, we’re happy to help! We created our handy dandy Shipping Calculator to help when your shipment is larger than 1 cubic foot. Remember, Mailboxes waives dimensional weight charges when your shipment is less than 1 cubic foot!

  • Mailboxes Dashboard is our Member Exclusive Platform which allows you access to:

    • SHIP - Upload your invoices to experience our FASTEST shipping speeds.

    • SHOP - Exclusive access to Bermuda’s premier eCommerce platform with popular products, “Amazon Style” prices, and in-your-hands delivery in less than 24 hours!

  • Mailboxes ProPacks service offers air-freight shipping for any belongings our clients want to send to their new homes as quickly and safely as possible. We take inventory of everything you’re shipping with our service, individually hand-pack your items, handle all the [not so fun] Customs documents, and ensure delivery of your items directly to the doorstep of your new address!   • EXPRESS Service? If you shipped using the EXPRESS service, and your delay exceeds our average transit times, send us an email at inbound@mailboxes.bm with the following information:

    1. Subject line including "Late Package", the name on the Mailboxes account and your membership number.

    2. Attach your invoice of the order in question.

    3. Name the merchant, specific items missing and the tracking number.

    4. Add any additional notes or context you think will assist us further in locating your package. 

    WEEKLY Service? If you shipped using the WEEKLY service, it’s important to note that package checkpoints may not be applied until the consolidation process happens on Friday evening. If your Dashboard doesn’t reflect shipment updates by Saturday morning, please call us at 292-6563 so our team can investigate further.
